Bio
DOROTTYA MÁTHÉ [do:ro:tja: m’a:tei] is a New York based Producer from Hungary with over 25+ film credits, who orchestrates all aspects of the production from conception to completion in her projects. Dorottya is excited to produce narrative and documentary films in such an ethnically and culturally diverse city as New York, where she can pursue lucrative cross-cultural collaborations with international cast and crew. Dorottya enjoys working across genres and produced an eclectic array of highly visible projects for various art institutions such as a slow-motion video installation for the prestigious Lincoln Center featuring seminal performers such as Alan Rickman, Patti Lupone, Wendy Whelan; a dance-theatre-opera for Baryshnikov Arts Center; a theatre performance at Here Arts Center; and a jazz concert with an international ensemble, which debuted at Carnegie Hall to critical acclaim. Her documentary endeavors include PARDON US FOR LIVING BUT THE GRAVEYARD IS FULL, a music documentary on the garage-rock band the Fleshtones; SING FOR HOPE: POP-UP PIANOS, a documentary about New York City‘s largest public art project; KEEPING OLIVIA, a biographical documentary about a mother’s courageous journey through untangling the trauma of losing her daughter to cancer and SHOULD WE KID OR NOT?, an interview-based documentary web series commissioned by PBS, that places two participants in a debate style discussion to explore the pros and cons of whether or not to have kids. A COPS AND ROBBERS STORY [released by Greenwich Entertainment], a biographical documentary about Corey Pegues for which Dorottya Line Produced the recreational segment premiered at Quad Cinema in New York City in January 2022. Her fiction credits include IMPOSSIBLE MONSTERS, a visually enticing psychological thriller starring Tony Award Winner Santino Fontana with Geoffrey Owens, Laila Robins and Dennis Boutsikaris released worldwide by Gravitas Ventures in 2020; THE INDEPENDENTS, a fictional folk ’n roll fable with Richard Kind and Tony Award Winner Kelli O’Hara in cameo-roles. To fulfill her relentless passion and unwavering commitment to tell female driven stories with culturally versatile talents, she collaborated with Nicole Gomez Fisher on an adventure-comedy GOOD EGG starring Yara Martinez, Joel Johnstone and Priscilla Lopez to be released in 2022 with the goal to spark thought-provoking conversations about women’s courageous journey behind their reproductive choices. Dorottya and Nathan Catucci (Impossible Monsters) decided to join their forces again collaborating on THE BIKERIDERS, to be filmed in the fall of 2022 - a gritty action-thriller set along the rust belt in 80s America in the heyday of outlaw motorcycle gangs. The exploitation of the working class, the consequences of greed and abuse of power for the benefit of the wealthy are not at all exclusive to the United States but currently very timely in a precarious moment of history. She has been a producing instructor for the Documentary Faculty at the New York Film Academy since 2010 mentoring emerging filmmakers. In the coming years, her goal is to pursue co-productions between the USA and Hungary, especially that her homeland recently became the European movie mecca for foreign productions.
