To qualify for WIP membership, please see the requirements below. If qualified and interested in joining our collective, please complete the PROSPECTIVE MEMBER FORM.
For membership upon receipt, the Coordinator will follow-up to set up a 20 minute introduction meeting with two current members. This meeting allows prospective members to get a better sense of our collective, and for WIP leadership to learn more about each prospective member and if the collective can meet the needs desired. Following final approval, a confirmation notice will be sent for initial dues subscription and membership activation.

In-person events will primarily take place in New York and Los Angeles; however, we are working to expand our membership reach to other States and international territories.
MEMBERSHIP CRITERIA
Women Independent Producers (WIP) welcomes membership applications from women and non-binary individuals who actively identify as producers or contribute significantly to the media and entertainment industry in a producer-related capacity. Membership is evaluated based on the criteria outlined below, submitted materials, and a brief interview following application submission.
PRODUCER MEMBERSHIP
Applicants for Producer Membership should meet the following:

Identify primarily as an active or established Producer with a minimum of 5 years of experience.

Have produced at least one distributed feature film, or three short films, or a TV/Cable/Web series.

Have served in a producer-related capacity (excluding simultaneous roles as writer or director) on at least two projects.
OR
-
Possess a minimum of 10 years of experience in a senior, adjacent role within the entertainment industry (e.g. film financier, agent, manager, casting director, distributor, sales agent, attorney, branded content executive) with a track record of secondary producer credits or oversight.
ASSOCIATE MEMBERSHIP
Applicants for Associate Membership should meet the following:

Are not currently enrolled in an undergraduate program (exceptions may apply for non-traditional or returning students).

Have at least 3 years of industry experience, ideally with exposure to or responsibilities aligned with producing.

Can provide 2 professional references from individuals working in producer-related roles who can speak to your industry background.

Demonstrate a clear interest in producing and a commitment to building a career in this field.

Show enthusiasm for engaging with the WIP community and supporting fellow members by attending events, promoting screenings, and sharing resources and opportunities.
All prospective members must agree to uphold the Women Independent Producers Code of Conduct, which fosters a respectful, inclusive, and collaborative environment.
